Ball and socket joint is also known as spheroidal joint. A joint in which the wrong surface of a bone moves within a depression on another bone.
Ball and socket joint allows for flexion-extension, abduction adduction and circumduction.
Ball and socket joint allows for 3 degree movement.
Examples for ball and socket joints are shoulder and hip joint.
