Clean India Mission (Swachh Bharat Abhiyan) – The Clean India Mission was launched by the Government of India in 2014 with the ambition of achieving a clean and open-defecation free India by October 2, 2019, the 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth. 2. Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) – Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme is a joint initiative of the Government of India, which aims to address the decline in Child Sex Ratio (CSR) and improve reality at the grass-root level. This mission also focuses on girl child empowerment, education, and healthcare. The scheme was launched in January 2015 by Prime  Minister Narendra Modi in Panipat, Haryana. The objectives of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao are to prevent gender-biased sex selection, to ensure survival and protection of the girl child, as well as to ensure education and participation of the girl child. The focus of this mission is to change the mindset of young people and create a protective environment and ensure reverence of the girl child in the society. This mission has also created awareness and mobilised people across the country, which has been resulting in improved CSR in the country.
