'Question: Explain how bats use ultrasound to catch a prey?
Bats use a process called echolocation to help them find prey in dark areas and at night. They use high-frequency sound waves, inaudible to the human ear, to create an “echo” of their environment and locate the exact position of their prey. When a bat emits a sound, the echoes return and create a sound “picture” of their prey. The bat can then rapidly adjust its position according to the intensity and delay of the reflection, and either dart in to snatch their prey or dive and catch it in midair. This process is so sophisticated and accurate, that bats can detect and catch prey even in complete darkness while flying at high speeds.
