Question: Explain how you can locate the pole star with the help of ursa major?
The pole star is located at the end of the handle of the Big Dipper, part of the constellation Ursa Major. To locate the pole star, first find the Big Dipper by looking for its distinctive shape in the night sky. The outermost stars of the Big Dipper's bowl will point to the pole star. Draw a line from the outermost star on one side of the bowl to the outermost star on the other side of the bowl and extend it for about five times the distance between them, and you should come across the pole star.
