Question: What is pil class 9?
Public Interest Litigation (PIL) is a type of case that is brought before the court in order to protect the public interest, in cases involving the protection of civil liberties, human rights, public health, and public welfare. PIL is a way of, in effect, introducing new public policy into the law and thus initiating a public debate about existing laws and policies.
In order for a case to be classified as PIL, the government must not be acting as the injured party and it must involve a matter in which the public is thought to have an interest, and must raise issues of broad public significance.
