Question: Explain the method of impeachment of the indian president?
The impeachment of the Indian President can be initiated by either house of Parliament on the grounds of violating the Constitution, gross misconduct or failure to uphold the oath of office. The motion to impeach the President must be supported by at least one-fourth of the total members of that house and passed by a majority of not less than two-thirds of the members present and voting. If passed by one house, the motion is then sent to the other house for consideration. If the motion is passed by both houses, the President is removed from office, and the Vice-President assumes the presidency.
