Question: Briefly describe any of your extracurricular activities, employment experience, travel, or family responsibilities that have shaped who you are.
One of the extracurricular activities that has shaped who I am is volunteering at a local animal shelter. I have always loved animals and wanted to help them in any way I can. I started volunteering at the shelter when I was 15 years old and have been doing it ever since.
Volunteering at the shelter has taught me many valuable skills and lessons. I have learned how to care for different kinds of animals, how to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds, and how to work as part of a team. I have also learned how to cope with difficult situations, such as seeing animals that are sick, injured, or abused. I have witnessed the joy of seeing animals find their forever homes, but also the sadness of saying goodbye to them.
Volunteering at the shelter has also helped me discover my passion for animal welfare and veterinary medicine. I have decided to pursue a career as a veterinarian and I am currently studying animal science at college. I hope to use my knowledge and skills to make a positive difference in the lives of animals and people.
Volunteering at the shelter has shaped who I am by making me more compassionate, responsible, and resilient. It has also given me a sense of purpose and fulfillment. I am grateful for the opportunity to volunteer at the shelter and I plan to continue doing it for as long as I can.
