Question: Who does lencho think has taken the rest of the money? describe the ironical ending of the story?
Lencho thinks that the post office employees have taken the rest of the money. He had asked God for a hundred pesos, but he only received seventy in the envelope. He believes that God could not have made a mistake, and therefore accuses the post office workers of being thieves.
The irony in the situation is that the post office employees are the ones who actually sent him the money, out of kindness and compassion. They wanted to help Lencho and preserve his faith in God, but they ended up being insulted and blamed by him. Lencho calls them "a bunch of crooks", even though they are the only ones who tried to assist him in his time of need.
